Potential Memoir Titles

I’ve been working on this list for a while, so I thought I’d record it so I don’t forget when autobiotiempo comes around.

My Life Is A Disaster: The Jesse Rueckert Story (This one will be a general introduction/overview of mi vida. This one will probably become a musical one man show at some point.)

I Hate Everyone: The Jesse Rueckert Story (This one will be a companion piece to My Life Is A Disaster. This one will be very dishy.)

Jesse: Based on the Novel “Push” by Sapphire (Hehehehehehe.)

Steamin’ Hot Cup of Jess: The Jesse Rueckert Story (This one will be more about unconventional little known facts about me. This one will have lots of lists and childhood photos and quotes from my mom. This one will also have very clever cover art, possibly involving me dressed as the creepy naked Starbucks mermaid thing.)

Tom Foolery: The Jesse Rueckert Story (This one will be about a long and meaningful relationship with someone named Tom— either a boyfriend who abuses me/is addicted to something or a heartwarming roommate/best friend who dies an untimely death but not before teaching me a valuable lesson about life. This one will be very sad. This one will also probably be the first to be turned into a made-for-TV movie).

Phased Out: The Jesse Rueckert Story (This one will be about my first job at Cold Stone where instead of firing me they just slowly stopped giving me hours/paying me/answering my phone calls. This one will be silly.) (Also, this one might have some chapters about my current job at the NYU Admissions Department. We’ll see how this semester goes.)

Backslash: The Jesse Rueckert Story (This one will be about my forays in the corporate world, and will use my fondness of unconventional punctuation as an extended metaphor somehow.)

CAPITALIZATION: The Jesse Rueckert Story (This one will be about my political ambitions. It will take place in Washington, DC and will use my fondness for Caps Lock as an extended metaphor somehow. This one will probably be sold in a collector’s box set with Backslash)

TO BE CONTINUED. Brb, I have to go start doing thing so I can actually have something to write in my memoirs. LOLZ.

Women on the Verge of a Clever Blog Title: Jesse Listens! (to “Women on the Verge”)

Welcome to “JESSE LISTENS!,” the latest addition to my POPPIN’ tumblr, where I LISTEN(!) to different things and make clever (dumb) comments. I’m sure I will be doing this a total of one-to-two times, so enjoy it while it lasts. Also, I’ve been sipping vodka tonics out of my Mary Poppins mug for the past two hours, so just bear with me.

Okay so my original name for this post was “Women on the Verge of a Consistent Accent,” but a few people have made similar puns, so I just went with something a little more self-referential. SoOoO metatheatrical of me, I know.

First of all, I didn’t see this show, but I looked at some YouTube clips and listened to the cast album several times so I feel very comfortable making snarky comments about it.

Women on the Verge features a hugely talented cast, including such musical theatre icons as Patti Lupone, Laura Benanti, Sherie Rene Scott, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and (of course):

He didn’t even win.

But despite this all-star cast, “Women on the Verge” never took off and closed early after only 100(ish) performances. Let’s see if we can figure out why, shall we?

I’d really like it if something could just go right in my life for like two seconds.
